Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in the year 1992, and started her studies in marine science at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard got her start working in the commercial seafood sector in 1999. In that year, she worked on Murat Aritan's 65-foot halibut boat, which was later transformed into a fishing tender. Bossard and Aritan are married now and have joined forces to stake their claim to their business. Both are advocates of preserving sustainable and renewable sources of seafood. In 2007, the mother of two children Bella aged 3 as well as Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia established a direct wholesale distribution of seafood known as Otolith. The husband of the business has a lengthy career in the fishing industry and often they are separate for five months or more.
